Basketball Game Preview: Dwyer Panthers vs. Treasure Coast Titans

The Dwyer Panthers will face off against the Treasure Coast Titans at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Last Wednesday, Dwyer came up short against Jupiter and fell 59-49. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 308th, while the Warriors are ranked 35th).

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was C'Orna Greene, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds. What's more, she also racked up two assists, the most she's had since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Ava Sarkin, who went 5 of 9 en route to 11 points.

Meanwhile, Treasure Coast's undefeated season came to an end after five games on Monday. They took a hard 48-33 fall against Central. The contest marked the Titans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Dwyer will have to keep a close watch on Reniah Flynn and Taliyah Brown, a pair of players who had a big impact on Treasure Coast's prior game. Flynn almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds, while Brown went 5 of 9 on her way to 13 points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Treasure Coast fell to 5-1. As for Dwyer, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Dwyer didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Treasure Coast in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 47-42 win. Does Dwyer have another victory up their sleeve, or will Treasure Coast turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
