Volleyball Recap: Midview Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Losses at Home

After losing to St. Vincent-St. Mary the last time they met, Midview decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Middies walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Fighting Irish on Saturday.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-19.

Emily Martin paced Midview's offense, picking up six kills. Martin got some help from Delaney Pebworth and her 21 assists. Pebworth was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Despite the defeat, St. Vincent-St. Mary saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Hsa Dah had five digs and two aces.

Midview's win ended a seven-match drought at home and bumped them up to 9-13. As for St. Vincent-St. Mary, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season.

Midview will challenge Chardon at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Vincent-St. Mary, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tallmadge at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
