Basketball Game Preview: Arcadia Hornets vs. Haughton Buccaneers

The Arcadia Hornets will head out to challenge the Haughton Buccaneers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Arcadia will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

Last Tuesday, everything came up roses for Arcadia against Plain Dealing as the team secured a 58-29 win. The Hornets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 18 matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Benton typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Haughton proved too difficult a challenge. They strolled past the Tigers with points to spare, taking the game 59-45. Given the Buccaneers' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 15th, while the Tigers are ranked 65th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Arcadia pushed their record up to 22-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.8 points per game. As for Haughton, their win bumped their record up to 25-3.
