Basketball Recap: Josh Boutaugh's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Conestoga Christian over High Point Baptist Academy

If Conestoga Christian was riding high fresh off their 61-30 takedown of Veritas Academy last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Conestoga Christian Cougars fell 58-45 to the High Point Baptist Academy Eagles on Monday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 71-43 back in January.

Conestoga Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josh Boutaugh, who went 8 of 15 en route to 19 points and six boards. That was a full 42.2% of Conestoga Christian's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Bransen Weaver was another key player, putting up 11 points.

High Point Baptist Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mason Rogers, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 17 rebounds. That's the most boards Rogers has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Reagan Wodicka, who went 6 for 13 on his way to 15 points and five rebounds.

Conestoga Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for High Point Baptist Academy, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-6.

Conestoga Christian has already played their next matchup, a 49-46 loss against Harrisburg Christian on the 5th. High Point Baptist Academy has also already played their next game (against Lincoln Leadership Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
