Basketball Recap: Westwood Christian Starts Season with Victory Against American Heritage

Westwood Christian gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They came out on top against the American Heritage Patriots by a score of 60-49.

Mayar Dhieu had an outrageously good game as he dropped a triple-double with 18 points, 14 rebounds, and ten blocks. That's the most boards he has posted since back in December of 2024. Zamari Dewberry was another key player, putting up ten points.

Coming up, Westwood Christian will take on Goleman at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for American Heritage, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Pine Crest at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
