Softball Recap: Pineville Wins Going Away Against Barbourville

While Pineville put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Barbourville. The Mountain Lions were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Tigers. The Mountain Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by seven runs or more this season.

The win made it two in a row for Pineville and bumps their season record up to 7-3. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Barbourville, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pineville will take on Hazard at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Bulldogs / Lady Bulldogs will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Mountain Lions surely won't give up without a fight. As for Barbourville, they will head out to take on Lynn Camp at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.67 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
