Softball Game Preview: Deer Lakes Lancers vs. Mt. Pleasant Vikings

The Deer Lakes Lancers will face off against the Mt. Pleasant Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Deer Lakes came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Yough, falling 8-1.

Deer Lakes saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riley Jones, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Mt. Pleasant unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Burrell.

Mt. Pleasant's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 8-4. As for Deer Lakes, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 7-9.
