Preview: Hilton Head Christian Academy Eagles vs. Savannah Country Day Hornets
The Hilton Head Christian Academy Eagles will be playing at home against the Savannah Country Day Hornets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Tuesday, everything came up roses for Hilton Head Christian Academy at home against the Dolphins as the team secured a 69-29 victory.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hilton Head Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Devon Yarde, who scored 21 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. Yarde hasn't dropped below 20 points for three straight games. Tamya Hutchinson was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Savannah Country Day got the win against the Blue Tide on Friday by a conclusive 47-27. Given Savannah Country Day's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while the Blue Tide are ranked 362nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Hilton Head Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for Savannah Country Day, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-4.
Hilton Head Christian Academy took their victory against the Hornets when the teams last played back in January of 2020 by a conclusive 52-28. Does Hilton Head Christian Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hornets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
