While Mundelein's win against Highland Park wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Mustangs had just enough and edged out the Giants 8-7. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Giants recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Logan Young looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Caden Earing, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jake Junia, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Mundelein's win bumped their record up to 11-3-2. As for Highland Park, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-3-1.

Mundelein will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Giants: the pair will be back at it again later today.
