Baseball Recap: Westview Wins Going Away Against West Noble

While Westview put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for West Noble. The Warriors put the hurt on the Chargers with a sharp 12-0 victory. That looming 12-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Warriors yet this season.

Max Engle made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. He has become a key player for Westview: the team is undefeated when he allows at most three hits, but 1-4 otherwise. Engle was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jaxon Engle, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Gavin Engle was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Westview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

With the win, Westview broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-4. As for West Noble, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-3.

Coming up, Westview will be playing at home against Central Noble at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for West Noble, they will venture away from home to square off against Bremen at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
