Baseball Game Preview: Cooter Wildcats vs. Chaffee Red Devils

The Cooter Wildcats will head out to square off against the Chaffee Red Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Cooter 3.2, Chaffee 1.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.

On Thursday, Cooter was able to grind out a solid win over New Madrid County Central, taking the game 7-3.

Meanwhile, Chaffee strolled into their game on Wednesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Oran a 4-0 shutout. Surprisingly, this marked the fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.

Chaffee's victory bumped their record up to 25-0. As for Cooter, their win bumped their record up to 9-3.

Cooter came up short against Chaffee in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 9-5. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
