Recap: Pinecrest Academy Paladins vs. Fideles Christian Rangers
The Pinecrest Academy Paladins scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They secured a 73-67 W over Fideles Christian. The win was some much needed relief for Pinecrest Academy as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Pinecrest Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Johnny Lynch, who scored 25 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Lynch has scored at least 25% of Pinecrest Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joe Frain, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 18 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Fideles Christian still got an impressive performance from Gabe Reynolds , who scored 29 points along with five rebounds. The match was Reynolds 's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Xander Lipinski, who scored 14 points.
Even though they lost, Fideles Christian were working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pinecrest Academy only racked up ten assists.
Pinecrest Academy's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-7. As for Fideles Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-3.
Pinecrest Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Cornerstone Prep Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 6th. Hopefully Cornerstone Prep Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 back in December of 2023. Fideles Christian is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Killian Hill Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th.
