Football Recap: North Augusta Piles Up the Points Against South Aiken

North Augusta won the last time they faced South Aiken and things went their way on Friday too. The Yellow Jackets claimed a resounding 51-21 victory over the Thoroughbreds. Fans of the Yellow Jackets have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

South Aiken's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kyson Mcleod, who picked up 144 receiving yards and one touchdown. Mcleod's longest reception was for an incredible 76 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Blain Drake, who rushed for 36 yards.

The win (which was North Augusta's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 10.3 points on average this season. As for South Aiken, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Augusta will square off against Strom Thurmond at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for South Aiken, they will take on Barnwell at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
