St. Mary had won five straight games and Janelle Gyampo did her part to make it six on Saturday. The Saints came out on top against the Lawrence Academy Warriors by a score of 57-49 with plenty of help from Gyampo, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 18 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down nine or more in each of the last 11 games she's played dating back to last season.

Kate Chamblee was another key player, dropping a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds. She also put up a block, which was her first of the season.

St. Mary's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Lawrence Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-2.

St. Mary's and Lawrence Academy will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Saints see the court they'll take on St. David's at 5:30 p.m. on the 2nd. As for Lawrence Academy, their break will end when they face Halifax Academy at 6:00 p.m. on the 2nd.
