Basketball Recap: Meade County Takes a Loss

Meade County has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 65-55 to the Owensboro Catholic Aces on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Aces this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 68-60 back in February.

Despite the loss, Meade County still got an impressive performance from Peyton Bradley, who shot 53% from the field on her way to 33 points and three steals. The game was Bradley's 11th in a row with at least 21 points. Another player making a difference was Paige Harrison, who posted six points and six boards.

Owensboro Catholic's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Karmin Riley, who had 12 points. Riley is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 11 games she's played. Sophia Newby was another key player, putting up 11 points and seven rebounds.

Meade County's defeat dropped their record down to 21-11. As for Owensboro Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-6 record this season.

As of now, neither Meade County nor Owensboro Catholic have any future games scheduled.
