Volleyball Recap: Kalamazoo Central Comes Up Short

Kalamazoo Central lost against Vicksburg back in September of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Maroon Giants fell 2-0 to the Bulldogs.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Vicksburg scored at least 18 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-21.

Aaliyah Young paced Kalamazoo Central's offense, picking up seven kills. Young got some help from Brooklyn Bacalia and her 15 assists. Bacalia was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Kalamazoo Central's defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-10-2. As for Vicksburg, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

Kalamazoo Central has already played their next game, a 1-1 draw against Lakeview on the 13th. As for Vicksburg, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Grosse Pointe South on the 13th.
