Softball Recap: Wicksburg Beats Headland for Their Seventh Straight Win

Wicksburg waltzed into their matchup on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They blew past the Headland Rams 11-0. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 18 contests by six runs or more this season.

Wicksburg let Chloe Joyner and Tylaya Lingo run wild. Joyner went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Lingo went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI Lingo has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ella Grace Kelley, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Wicksburg's win bumped their record up to 30-6. As for Headland, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-12 record this season.

Wicksburg has already played their next match, an 11-4 victory against Dothan on the 11th. As for Headland, they will face off against Eufaula at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
