Softball Recap: Forsyth Panthers vs. Strafford Indians
Forsyth waltzed into their matchup on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They had just enough and edged the Strafford Indians out 4-2. Four seems to be a good number for Forsyth as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Lindsey Essary made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and not a single walk). Essary has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in three consecutive pitching appearances. Essary was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lilia Roberts, who went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI. Zoe White was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
