Baseball Recap: Jerome Tigers vs. Shelley Russets
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Kimberly, Jerome was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Shelley Russets by a score of 5-1. The win was some much needed relief for the Tigers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Julian Orozco spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on nine hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Jerome let Noah Ramsey and Brett Harrison run wild. Ramsey went 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI, while Harrison scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. That's the most RBI Ramsey has posted since back in March.
Jerome's victory bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Shelley, they dropped their record down to 2-11 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road.
