Basketball Recap: Maiden Wins Going Away Against West Cabarrus

Maiden won against Bunker Hill on Friday with 60 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. The Blue Devils enjoyed a cozy 60-44 win over the West Cabarrus Wolverines. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Blue Devils.

Khiara Culliver produced another solid effort dropping a double-double with 22 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Raegan Rembert, who went 6-for-12 to rack up 15 points and five boards.

Maiden smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

Maiden's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for West Cabarrus, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-3 record this season.

Maiden and South Point will compete for holiday cheer at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for West Cabarrus, they will be home for the holidays to greet Hickory Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
