Baseball Game Preview: Lincoln Trojans vs. Niceville Eagles

For the second straight game, Lincoln will face off against Niceville. The Trojans are taking a road trip to face off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Lincoln 3.4, Niceville 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Lincoln heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Wednesday. They fell just short of Niceville by a score of 1-0. The Trojans' loss signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

For Niceville's part, they got a great performance from Jake Morvay as he didn't allow a single earned run over 6.1 innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Morvay a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

On the hitting side, Niceville's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Marcantonio, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Niceville is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Lincoln, their defeat dropped their record down to 22-10.
