Softball Recap: Crestwood Red Devils vs. Cardinal Huskies
Crestwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cardinal Huskies. The Red Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Huskies apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.
Keli Lee and Kayleigh Helm did some serious damage despite the final result: Lee scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Helm went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Lee also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Audrey Julian was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Crestwood's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Cardinal, they pushed their record up to 4-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Coming up, Crestwood will welcome Kirtland at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hornets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.2 runs per game on average), something the Red Devils will no doubt try to take advantage of.
