Basketball Recap: Granger Comes Up Short

Granger was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. The match between them and the Taylorsville Warriors didn't end well, with the Granger Lancers falling 58-44. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 60-56 back in January.

Taylorsville got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jeweliana Martinez out in front who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds. Those ten points gave Martinez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Karen Jones, who posted 17 points.

Granger's defeat dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Taylorsville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-10 record this season.

Looking ahead, Granger will be playing at home against Cyprus at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Taylorsville, they will venture away from home to take on West Jordan at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as West Jordan comes in on nine and Taylorsville on four.
