Game recap: Pensacola can't hold onto lead against Pace

After two lead changes, Pace (Fla.) took the lead for good when J.c. Curry ran for a touchdown with 1:00 remaining in the second quarter and held on to beat Pensacola (Fla.) 20-10 on Saturday.

The Patriots were up 17-10 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown run by Curry in the second quarter.

Pace's standout player in the win was Ryan Santoso. He kicked two field goals and two extra points.

The Tigers' lone touchdown came on a 32-yard run in the first quarter.

The Patriots came into the game allowing 13.2 points per game.



The victory is a complete turnaround from last season's game between these two teams, which Pensacola took, 36-13.

The defeat comes as a step back for Pensacola, which notched a 11-7 victory over Milton in its previous outing. With the win Pace extended its winning streak to three games.

In a 6A District 1 game next week Pace (5-1) takes on Escambia, and Pensacola (2-2) will go up against Tate also in a 6A District 1 game.
