Softball Recap: Metro-East Lutheran Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Metro-East Lutheran had lost five games at home dating back to last season, but after bumping their record up to 3-6 on Monday that streak is in the rearview. They blew past the Althoff Catholic Crusaders 18-1. With that victory, the Knights brought their scoring average up to 6.7 runs per game.

Taylor Weber made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Audrey Elmer, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Thea Ball was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.

Metro-East Lutheran always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

As for Althoff Catholic, their record is now 1-11. Having soared to a lofty 25 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Althoff Catholic's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anna Rodriguez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
