Softball Game Preview: Sitka Wolves vs. Colony Knights

The Sitka Wolves are taking a road trip to challenge the Colony Knights at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Sitka had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 21-run drubbing they dealt Wasilla on Friday. The Wolves never let the Warriors get on the board and left with a 21-0 win. The victory was nothing new for the Wolves as they're now sitting on six straight.

Meanwhile, Colony faced Ketchikan in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Knights were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Kings. The win continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Kings: they've now won six in a row.

Taylor Passard was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Saibree Noll, who went 1-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

Colony always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ketchikan only posted an OBP of .154.

Sitka's record is now 6-1. As for Colony, their record now sits at 12-2.

Sitka got the 'W' in their previous matchup two weeks ago against Colony by a conclusive 8-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
