It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Gibbs had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They blew past the South Gibson Hornets 11-1. Gibbs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won 18 matchups by six runs or more this season.
Lacey Keck made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Keck has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in ten consecutive pitching appearances. Keck was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with three RBI and a double.
In other batting news, Gibbs got a massive performance out of Malyiah Smith, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. Addison Merritt was another key contributor, going 3-for-5 with three RBI and a double.
Gibbs has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 19 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 30-12 record this season. As for South Gibson, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 29-9-1.
