Eau Claire's six-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Tuesday. They came out on top against C.A. Johnson by a score of 60-47. The victory was just what Eau Claire needed coming off of a 61-41 loss in their prior game.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought match, but Heathwood Hall Episcopal had to settle for a 54-52 loss against Laurence Manning Academy on Saturday. Heathwood Hall Episcopal has struggled against Laurence Manning Academy recently, as their contest on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Heathwood Hall Episcopal's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Henry Morris, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 16 rebounds, and Nic Nichols who scored 22 points. The match was Nichols' fifth in a row with at least ten points.
Eau Claire's win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-5. As for Heathwood Hall Episcopal, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-5.
Eau Claire couldn't quite finish off Heathwood Hall Episcopal when the teams last played back in December of 2022 and fell 40-38. Can Eau Claire avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
