Basketball Game Preview: Joseph City Wildcats vs. Show Low Cougars

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Wildcats take on the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Joseph City will be looking to extend their current 18-game winning streak.

Last Friday, Joseph City blew past Mogollon, posting a 39-11 victory. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 23 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Joseph City got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Audrey Neill out in front who went 6 for 13 on her way to 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of April Neill, who posted five points along with seven boards and four steals.

Meanwhile, Show Low was able to grind out a solid victory over Holbrook on Wednesday, taking the game 49-41. The win continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Roadrunners: they've now won six in a row.

Joseph City's victory was their 22nd straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 27-4. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 20.5 points over those games. As for Show Low, their record now sits at 21-6.

Everything went Joseph City's way against Show Low in their previous meeting back in December of 2014, as Joseph City made off with a 44-22 win. Will Joseph City repeat their success, or does Show Low have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
