Volleyball Recap: Lafayette Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Lafayette faced Tates Creek in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Generals were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Commodores. The win continues a trend for the Generals in their matchups with the Commodores: they've now won three in a row.

Lafayette was especially dominant in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-21, 25-15.

Jake Peterson paced Lafayette's offense, picking up eight kills. Peterson got some help from Jaiden Vanover and his 25 assists. Vanover was also solid from the service line: he led the team with six aces.

Lafayette pushed their record up to 10-6 with the victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Tates Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.

The future could be bright for both Lafayette and Tates Creek: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. The Generals will try to hand Bryan Station their seventh-straight defeat when the two meet at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Tates Creek will look to extend East Jessamine's three-game losing streak when they meet at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
