Baseball Game Preview: Spanaway Lake Sentinels vs. Yelm Tornados

For the second straight game, Spanaway Lake will face off against Yelm. The Sentinels will challenge the Tornados at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Spanaway Lake is looking for their season's first win.

Things were looking good for Spanaway Lake after they put the first runs on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 7-1 to Yelm.

For Yelm's part, Jonah Smith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. With that strong performance, Smith is now averaging an impressive 7 strikeouts per game.

At the plate, Wesley Thompson was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Robison, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

Yelm now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Spanaway Lake, their loss dropped their record down to 0-12.
