Basketball Recap: Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory Comes Up Short

Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Valley Christian Warriors, falling 64-38. While losing is never fun, the Fightin' Irish can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 241st, while the Warriors are ranked 41st).

Despite the loss, Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory still got an impressive performance from Cory Wong, who posted ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Valentino Fierros, who put up seven points.

Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Valley Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-3.

Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory will challenge Archbishop Mitty at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.3 points per game this season. As for Valley Christian, they will square off against Archbishop Riordan at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Archbishop Riordan knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Valley Christian likes a good challenge.
