Baseball Game Preview: Nixon Mustangs vs. Palmview Lobos

Nixon hasn't had much luck against Palmview recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Nixon Mustangs will venture away from home to square off against the Palmview Lobos at 5:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Nixon is headed into the game having just suffered their closest loss since April 12, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Roma by a score of 4-2. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Palmview didn't have quite enough to beat Zapata on Saturday and fell 4-3.

Palmview saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mateo Garcia, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one RBI. The dominant performance gave Garcia a new career-high in stolen bases.

Palmview suffered their first road defeat, dropping their record down to 6-4. As for Nixon, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.

Nixon might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Palmview in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Nixon avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
