Football Game Preview: Lexington Eagles vs. Caldwell Hornets

The Lexington Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Caldwell Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lexington is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Lexington's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Hearne, posting a 37-0 win. The result was nothing new for Lexington, who have now won four matchups by 26 points or more so far this season.

It was another big night for Kase Evans, who threw for 130 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in one score on the ground. Weston Bayer also helped with two TDs in total.

Meanwhile, the third road game was the charm for Caldwell, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They took down Smithville 49-34 last Friday. The Hornets' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Lexington better keep an eye on Coy Becka. He was instrumental in Caldwell's win, rushing for 185 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. Becka's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 124 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Lexington's record now sits at 5-0. As for Caldwell, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Everything came up roses for Lexington against Caldwell in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 52-7 victory. In that contest, the Eagles amassed a halftime lead of 29-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
