Softball Recap: Blue Ridge's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Monday

It was a good run, but Blue Ridge unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Monday. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fisher Bunnies. If the Knights were looking for revenge after losing 7-1 to the Bunnies when the teams met back in May of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Mya Laidley was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Presley Hardesty, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Blue Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Fisher, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-11-1 record this season.

Blue Ridge will square off against Sullivan at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Redskins have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season. As for Fisher, they will face off against Georgetown-Ridge Farm at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bunnies are facing the Buffaloes at the right time seeing as the Buffaloes are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
