Recap: McEwen Warriors vs. Houston County Fighting Irish
The McEwen Warriors had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against Houston County by a score of 53-41. For McEwen, this counts as revenge for the 65-52 defeat Houston County walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
It was another big night for Shana Bohannon, who scored 18 points. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Amberlee Hankins, who scored 11 points.
McEwen pushed their record up to 12-5 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Houston County, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-6.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central the next time they take the court. Houston County will head out to face Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while McEwen will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
