Softball Recap: Bellingham Falls to Medway in First Game of Season

Bellingham unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Medway Mustangs by a score of 8-6 on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Blackhawks in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost six in a row.

Kaleigh Simpson was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Medway has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Bellingham wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 5-2 loss against Dedham on the 4th. As for Medway, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-1 victory against Milton on the 4th.
