Football Recap: East River Falcons vs. Oak Ridge Pioneers
East River gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They walked away with a 17-6 win over the Oak Ridge Pioneers. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Falcons as it put an end to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season.
William Billingsley was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 78 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries.
East River wouldn't let Oak Ridge keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. East River can thank Bryce Blank and Devon Carroll Jr for forcing both of them.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East River is headed away from home for the first time to square off against Lake Brantley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Oak Ridge, they will square off against Innovation at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
