Softball Recap: Oak Lawn Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Oak Lawn was handed a 11-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Niles West Wolves 9-8. The victory was some much needed relief for the Spartans as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

Kamya Feigl was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Katie Casey, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

The win got Oak Lawn back to even at 7-7. As for Niles West, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-8 record.

Looking ahead, Oak Lawn will venture away from home to take on Shepard at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Astros will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight. As for Niles West, they will host Niles North at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 10.2 runs per game this season.
