Volleyball Recap: King Philip Regional Falls Despite Big Games from Caleigh Shore and Cece Mullen

If King Philip Regional was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Canton on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Warriors fell just short of the Franklin Panthers by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost six in a row.

King Philip Regional took Franklin into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. The final score came out to 18-25, 25-18, 25-20, 19-25, 15-12.

King Philip Regional's loss came despite strong showings from Cece Mullen and Caleigh Shore. Mullen had 21 assists and 13 digs, while Shore had 20 digs. Mullen is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last seven games she's played. Alli Cleasby also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

King Philip Regional's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Franklin, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 14-2.
