Baseball Recap: Carlisle Takes a Loss

After flying high against Eastern Mennonite last Friday, Carlisle came back down to earth. The Carlisle Chiefs fell just short of The Covenant Eagles by a score of 10-8 on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Chiefs in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.

Mason Wood and Luke Carter stepped up to the plate in a big way. Wood scored three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Carter scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Carlisle now has a losing record of 1-2. As for The Covenant, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Carlisle will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Fishburne Military at 4:00 p.m. on March 31st. As for The Covenant, they will host Grace Christian at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
