Soccer Recap: Springfield Comes Up Short

Springfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Haverford Fords, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, Springfield can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 276th, while Haverford are ranked 32nd).

Springfield's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Haverford, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-2-1.

Coming up, Springfield will be playing in front of their home fans against Harriton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Haverford, they will head out on the road to face off against Ridley at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Haverford will be up against Ridley's rather soft defense (which has allowed 3.11 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
