Basketball Game Preview: Thompson Valley Eagles vs. Mountain View Mountain Lions

The Thompson Valley Eagles will face off against the Mountain View Mountain Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Thompson Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Mountain View likes a good challenge.

On Tuesday, Thompson Valley got the win against Greeley Central by a conclusive 69-49. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 116th, while the Wildcats are ranked 265th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Mountain View was able to grind out a solid win over Timnath on Tuesday, taking the game 67-59. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mountain Lions.

Thompson Valley better keep an eye on Dylan Garland. He was instrumental in Mountain View's win, putting up 15 points. The contest was Garland's third in a row with at least ten points.

Mountain View is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points per game. As for Thompson Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 12-5.
