Softball Game Preview: Mount St. Mary Academy Lions vs. Bound Brook Crusaders

The Mount St. Mary Academy Lions will face off against the Bound Brook Crusaders at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Mount St. Mary Academy has three straight victories, Bound Brook has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Mount St. Mary Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Montgomery a 25-0 shutout on Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Meanwhile, Bound Brook fell victim to Bernards and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Mountaineers, falling 6-0.

Mount St. Mary Academy picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 4-2. As for Bound Brook, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.

Everything went Mount St. Mary Academy's way against Bound Brook in their previous meeting back in April of 2023, as Mount St. Mary Academy made off with an 11-5 win. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Crusaders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
