The matchup between Menchville and Phoebus on Monday hardly resembled the 2-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Monarchs put the hurt on the Phantoms with a sharp 19-2 victory. The Monarchs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by seven runs or more this season.

Taylor Twitchell (2027) was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rashani Sackey (2026), who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Suki Gibbons (2027) was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Menchville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .632. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win was the fourth in a row for Menchville, bringing their record up to 11-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Phoebus, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Menchville will face off against Denbigh at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.43 runs per game on average), something the Monarchs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Phoebus, they will square off against Warwick at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raiders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.56 runs per game on average), something the Phantoms will no doubt try to take advantage of.
