Softball Recap: West Ouachita Takes a Loss

If West Ouachita was riding high fresh off their 9-3 takedown of Prairieville on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Chiefs took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pineville Rebels on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rebels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 23-6 back in February.

West Ouachita saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kinley Collins, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

West Ouachita's loss dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Pineville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.

West Ouachita will challenge Grant at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Chiefs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Pineville, they will head out to face off against Ouachita Parish at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rebels' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season.
