Basketball Game Preview: Rangely Panthers vs. Grand Valley Cardinals

A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Panthers duke it out with the Cardinals at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Rangely will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

Last Wednesday, Rangely strolled past West Grand with points to spare, taking the game 51-35.

Miah Wren was her usual excellent self, putting up 20 points in addition to six steals and five assists. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 30 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubriana Tapia, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 11 boards.

Meanwhile, Grand Valley came up short against North Fork on Friday and fell 42-35. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Rangely's win was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33.1 points. As for Grand Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-13.

Rangely ended up a good deal behind Grand Valley in their previous meeting back in February of 2021, losing 50-36. Can Rangely avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
