Basketball Recap: Skyline Prep Takes a Loss

If Skyline Prep was feeling good fresh off their 65-31 takedown of Maya last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Skyline Prep Bengals were just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 56-55 to Sequoia Pathfinder Verrado Way. While losing is never fun, the Bengals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while Sequoia Pathfinder Verrado Way are ranked 11th).

With the loss, Skyline Prep broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-7. As for Sequoia Pathfinder Verrado Way, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-2 record this season.

Skyline Prep will square off against Imagine Prep at 5:30 p.m. on January 28th. As for Sequoia Pathfinder Verrado Way, they will face off against Premier Prep- PHHoenix at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Sequoia Pathfinder Verrado Way's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 13 games.
