Baseball Recap: Gilbert Classical Academy Comes Up Short

Gilbert Classical Academy had lost seven straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 5-14 to make it eight. They lost 15-0 to the Chandler Prep Titans. The Spartans were not able to make up for their loss to the Titans from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

Gilbert Classical Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Beckett Elliot, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

As for Chandler Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.

On Chandler Prep's side, the team relied heavily on Robby Hirsch, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That triple marked the first that Hirsch has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Kim, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Coming up, Gilbert Classical Academy will head out to take on Arete Prep at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The CHARGERS have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 25.25 runs per game on average), something the Spartans will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Chandler Prep, they will take on Lincoln Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Titans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lightning have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season.
