Softball Recap: Waverly Comes Up Short

Dansville hit Waverly with a 13-run first inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Warriors lost 19-1 to the Aggies. The Warriors were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Aggies earlier this season, when they won 8-5.

Waverly saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marisela Guevara, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.

Waverly's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Dansville, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Waverly will face off against Okemos at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wolves have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.17 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Dansville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Morrice at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
